Why does Google Wallet show a points value after an NFC tap?

After a successful Smart Tap, Google Wallet always shows the primary field of the pass. You cannot switch this off. Rename or repurpose the primary field, for example to a status such as "Checked in", so the value shown makes sense for your use case.
