Viewing and exporting scan data

Passcreator records every scan made with the Smart Scan app in your account. This article shows where you find the scan history, how you filter it, and how you export it as a CSV file.

Requirements

  • You need the App Scans privilege to view scanned passes.

Steps

Opening the scanned passes view

There are two ways to get there.

  1. Go to Validation in the sidebar and click Scanned Passes in the upper right.
  2. Or go to Logs in the profile menu at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Scanned Passes as the source.

Both take you to the same view, the Logs page with the Scanned Passes source selected.

Understanding the view

At the top you see counters that summarize the results, for example Successful Scans, Already Voided and Pass Not Known. They tell you at a glance how many scans succeeded and how many passes the app rejected.

Each entry in the results list shows five values.

  • Date/Time is the time of the scan.
  • Device is the device that performed the scan.
  • Barcode is the scanned barcode value.
  • Status is the scan result.
  • Properties is the number of additional properties captured with the scan. This column matters if your app configuration asks for extra information. See Collecting additional info when scanning.

Filtering scans

Use the filter section to narrow down the list.

  • App Configuration shows only scans made with a specific configuration, for example a single entrance or campaign.
  • Place filters by the validation place recorded with the scan.
  • A keyword search.
  • A created from and to date range.

Exporting scan data as CSV

Click Export Result to download the currently filtered scans as a CSV file named scanned_passes.csv. The export includes the data of the scanned passes and the information about the scan itself. That covers the time of the scan and any additional properties your staff entered.
