Yes, Apple Wallet passes work through Apple VAS and Google Wallet passes through Google Smart Tap. You need NFC enabled on your account and on the template, and an NFC reader certified for Apple VAS and Google Smart Tap. Apple also approves each use case before Apple Wallet NFC passes work.
