The challenge was gift cards tied to the bank
S4S is one of Iceland's well-known retailers for clothes, shoes and activewear, with 13 shops and 3 online stores. Alongside international brands such as Ecco, Skechers and Nike, S4S works with established Icelandic shoe and clothing brands.
S4S wanted to sell more electronic gift cards without disrupting its existing sales channels. The old process ran through a bank partnership that tied up money and called for cautious liquidity planning.
The solution is a fully electronic gift card system
With the Passcreator Retail Suite, S4S left the bank based process behind. Digital gift cards are issued in seconds, also as credit notes for returned goods, and no money is tied up at the bank any more. A better online sales process made it possible to run a campaign for gift cards that do not expire.
Back office and customer communication in one place
The S4S team tracks how gift cards are used in the Retail Suite back office and reaches card holders from there. Customers keep their gift card or credit note in Apple Wallet or Google Wallet, so it is on the phone when they shop.
